
Jennifer was always hoping to be a multitasking celebrity. Growing up, she enjoyed a variety of genres in music, including Afro-Caribbean music like salsa, merengue and bachata, and mainstream music like pop, hip-hop and R&B. The music she loved was equally fascinated by the movie industry. West Side Story, a musical performed by Rita Moreno (1961), was the most influential film for her. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer is also an entertainer as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended 8 years at Holy Family Catholic Elementary School located in The Bronx. After completing her four years of school at the school, she was able to graduate from Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer was a star athlete at school and competed in the track and field as well as tennis. The Castle Hill neighbourhood was her residence for the majority of her time. At 18, Jennifer moved out of the house of her parents. Lopez began working at an office for lawyers while partying in the evenings.
