Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a schoolteacher while her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick was a gifted entertainer and singer at an early age. She would put on shows with puppets to entertain her friends. McCormick won in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was then contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to work in the business of show production. McCormick was hired to star in her first major role in 1964 in an tv commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It up and It Breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was among 1200 other children who auditioned for the role of the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with the same family as a blended one. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick disclosed that during the 5th season of the TV show, she was close to losing her virginity with her brother Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book Heres the story: Surviving Marcia and Finding My True Voice that in season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to Barry Williams. It would have happened she said but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
